The Palmento

The Palmento is the name of a large tank used by the ancient Greeks to press and ferment wine. As children I remember taking part inside this structure in the annual pressing of the grape harvest. When we moved in Sonia and I set about the renovation of the original residence employing natural materials such as wood, Calabrian terracotta and Geraces tuff stone. The “Palmento” was reborn and today is an independent residence equipped with every comfort needed to ensure the maximum in hospitality and relaxation for our guests.

The Villa can accommodate up to four people. It consists of a bedroom and bath, a large living room with a stone fireplace, two elegant sofa beds and a carefully equipped kitchen. Natural light floods the interiors from the large windows that overlook the garden and outdoor patio.

Il Palmento is thoughtfully integrated into the surrounding nature that can be admired from the elegant patio overlooking the Villa’s gardens whose fruits and vegetables can be enjoyed by the guests. Our pool is surrounded by greenery and is embellished by the beauty of century old olive trees. Wind shaped cypress adorned with the scent of aromatic herbs and Mediterranean jasmine add to the idyllic sensory experience.
